Hello, my name is Matheu Nazareno and I am honored to be serving as your President! I am currently a Biology major with a minor in neuroscience! My plan is to attend medical school with an interest to specialize in emergency medicine. My hobbies include lacrosse, going to the gym, and playing guitar. I hope to be an example to others while learning from those who can help me grow which is why I look forward to working with all of you. Hello, my name is Omar Shafi, and I am truly honored to be acting as your Sergeant-at-Arms! I am currently majoring in the Biological Sciences. My goal is to attend medical school and to one day become a successful gastroenterologist. In my free time, I like to hike, swim, play video games, and watch movies with my friends and family. One of my favorite things about AED is the admirable motivation and hard work that its members showcase. I look forward to working with such inspiring people and accomplishing some truly impactful work together. ​Hello everyone! My name is Maggie Louie, and I am honored to represent AED as your secretary. I am currently a junior majoring in Biochemistry, aiming to attend medical school. I aspire to become a cardiologist or a cardiac surgeon in the future. For now, I’m trying to gain more medical experience by volunteering and working at hospitals. In my free time, I enjoy binge-watching Netflix shows, playing volleyball, and thrifting. I also love traveling, trying new food, and taking pictures. Hi everyone! My name is Lana Lutes, and I am honored to serve as your Treasurer! I am a Pre-Professional Biology major with a minor in Chinese. My goal is to go to medical school, and I am striving to be an anesthesiologist or plastic surgeon. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, but I love traveling and experiencing new places. I love video games, reading, listening to music, origami, frogs, and dancing. Hi everyone! My name is Kenny Dominguez, and I am extremely honored to serve as your historian! I am currently majoring in Biology with the intention of going to Optometry School after I graduate. My hobbies include listening to music, creative writing, and hanging out with my friends and family. The opportunities that AED has bestowed upon me have truly changed my life for the better, and I will always be thankful for that. Hi everyone! My name is Alexandra Caballero and I am so excited to serve as your Webmaster! I am a Pre-Professional Biology major aspiring to become a pediatrician. My hobbies include binging Netflix and playing video games. I am also a proud dog mom, I have two dogs named Miley and Lebby (Miley is named after Miley Cyrus and Lebby is named after LeBron James). Hi everyone! My name is Kinberly Malfavon. I am currently a senior at UNLV majoring in Biological Sciences with a pre-professional concentration. I was born and raised in Las Vegas. My career goal is to attend medical school after graduating, in hopes of one day becoming either an OBGYN or a Pediatrician. I’ve been a part of AED since Fall 2021 and a Co-Chair of the Blood Drive Committee since Fall 2022. On my free time I try to spend it with my family and friends. Hello everyone! My name is Ivanesa Velikova, and my nickname is Ivy. I was born in Bulgaria and I was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I am a senior at UNLV majoring in biological sciences with a minor in neuroscience. My professional goal is to have a career as either a physician or physician assistant. My hobbies include hiking, yoga/pilates, and traveling. I enjoy volunteering with my friends in several organizations on campus such as VAW, Alpha Xi Delta, and AED of course. I love being co-chair of our blood drive committee because it is a friendly, welcoming environment that allows me to have the opportunity to directly impact our community every semester. Hello! My name is Rubaab Wahid, and I am a Co-Chair for the Physician Shadowing Committee. I am excited to be part of the team bringing the Committee back to life after the pandemic. Saher and I will work hard to create a diverse network of physicians for our members to shadow. My name is Baylor Akhavan. I was born and raised in Las Vegas and one of my favorite hobbies is cooking, especially breakfast foods.
