Past Officers

Hey fellow AED members! I’m Brianna, and I’ll be one of the chairs for the Fundraising committee! I’m a Biochemistry major with minors in Psychology and Biology, aspiring to go to medical school to become a doctor one day. Outside of the school setting, I love to go on (what I consider) adventures with my friends like visiting new restaurants or exploring parks, but I also enjoy staying in for game nights or to simply talk and relax. I’ve recently picked up playing the guitar and I love to sing, so you’ll likely see me jamming out in my car if you ever see me drive by. I look forward to getting to know more about you guys, too, so please come talk to me at the next AED event!

Hi! My name is JT Tharayil and interestingly enough I’m a Biology major who wants to go medical school. I love watching movies and TV shows, with Fargo being my favorite movie and Parks and Recreation being my favorite TV series. I’m also a huge football fan (go Giants!), The Shins are my favorite band, and occasionally I like to study for my classes. I dislike plants. I think science and medicine are so cool and it’s great to be part of a committee that lets me convey that to high school students. Hello AED! My name is Sabrina and I am a double major in biology and psychology with a minor in neuroscience. My aspiration is to go to medical school after graduating in Spring 2018! I am a lover of small dogs, scenic views, corny jokes, Thai food, and tomato juice on airplanes (it just tastes better haha). Prior to joining the educational outreach committee I was humanitarian committee chair. I am passionate about serving our community and both committees have allowed me to do the type of outreach and volunteering that I enjoy! Feel free to approach me if you have any questions about EOC or just want to say hi- I love talking to people and I’m barely even 4’9 so I’m basically never scary or intimidating (hahaha!!).

Hello AED, my name is Erum Chowdhry and I am a biology major graduating in spring of 2019 with the goals of attending medical school. I was born in Long Island, New York but have lived in Vegas for most of my life. A few things about me: I love to collect pens, bike ride, and eat ice cream. I also enjoy watching medical shows such as Mystery Diagnosis and Monsters Inside Me. I hope to meet more AED members at our bone marrow drives!

Hey AED, my name is Purna Patel. I’m a Pre-Professional Biology major in my junior year. I joined AED in Spring of 2015. I plan to graduate in Spring 2018. My three favorite activities are sleeping, traveling, and binge-watching television. I love to travel to new cities and have exciting adventures. I often binge television shows instead of studying. So if you ever need a new show to binge watch, ask me.

What’s up AED, my name is Carly Saxe and I am a biology major hoping to graduate in Spring 2017. After graduation, I hope to attend dental school and pursue a career in pediatric dentistry. In my free time, you can find me either watching a movie (usually a Disney or Robin Williams movie) with my dog, Calvin or listening to some throwback jams. I have a vast range of musical interests including The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Adele, and of course the Biebs. I have the biggest sweet and sushi tooth in the world, so if you ever want to grab some ice cream or sushi, I am down. I am excited to be on the blood drive committee and work with other AED members!

Hello AED! My name is Nathan Ebiya. I am a pre-professional Biology major with a Psychology minor and I plan to attend medical school once I graduate. I am excited to be on Blood Drive Committee and I look forward to meeting everyone at the blood drives. When I’m not studying, I like to watch movies, go hard in the gym, hang out with friends, and eat good food at cool restaurants. Don’t be afraid to say hi whenever you see me on campus!

Hey everyone! My name is Jeremy Santamaria and I am a Pre-Med student attending UNLV as a junior. Born from the Bronx, explored the Philippines, and raised in Vegas. I’m aspiring to be a CT surgeon, or a physician associated in cardiology someday! On my free time- when I’m not studying- I like to play my guitar or go climbing at Red Rock mountains with my friends. Hello everyone! My name is Tatiana Mikhael and I am a biology major. I plan to graduate in Spring 2018 and attend medical school afterwards. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, but I still have trouble with street names. I spend most of my free time binge watching whatever new show is on Netflix, I’ll try not to spoil anything for you. Hi everybody! My name’s Haley Palaganas and this is my second year as a Biology major at UNLV. I plan on graduating in Spring 2018 then heading to medical school. I love traveling and hope to volunteer abroad in the future as an Emergency Medicine Physician. Hi everyone! My name is Shalini Dalpatadu and I am a biology major. I plan on graduating spring of 2018. After I graduate I am planning on attending medical school to hopefully become some type of pediatric physician. I danced competitively for 15 years in ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and tap! I love taking yoga and Pilates’ classes. My favorite TV shows are Once Upon A Time, Gilmore Girls, Friends, and Full House and yes I cannot wait until Fuller House and the Gilmore Girls reunion shows air on Netflix! Hi there AED! My name is Robert Gullickson and am super excited to be your President! I’m majoring in biology with a double minor in psychology and neuroscience and hope to one day become a doctor. I’m originally from Minnesota and a true midwesterner at heart. On my free time I enjoy exercising, trying new restaurants (forever love Thai and Indian food) and watching Seinfeld.
