AED Bone Marrow Drive

Our committee is partnering with the non-profit organization Gift of Life. Our mission is to add as many people as possible to the Gift of Life bone marrow registry to help match and provide an alternative treatment to harsh treatments such as chemotherapy for those battling blood-borne diseases such as Leukemia. Once in this registry, you will be possibly matched and asked to donate your bone marrow to someone in need at your own discretion. However, the clear up the misconceptions, many people tend to be in fear as many donations depict a huge needle is stuck into your pelvis to withdraw bone marrow. This only happens to be the case about 10% of the time. 90% of the time, you will be injected with a drug that increases your peripheral STEM cells. From there on, you would essentially do a simple blood draw and then help save a life! However, at this drive, our MAIN mission is to add people to the registry! Then, at your own discretion, you will be able to choose whether you want to help someone or not if matched with someone!
