AED x Gift of Life Bone Marrow Drive

Welcome to AED's Bone Marrow Drive in the Spring Semester! Our committee works with the non-profit organization Gift of Life to help educate the community and add people into the global Bone Marrow Registry. Our mission is to add as many people into the Gift of Life Marrow registry to increase the chances of possibly matching with a patient. Approximately every 3 minutes in the United States, someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. However, people with blood borne diseases can possibly be cured or have the opportunity to live far longer if you match and choose to help. However, the chances of matching are statistically VERY low. To be exact, the possibility of matching is 1/146 which is about 0.006%. Therefore, to increase these critically low chances, we are adding people into the registry so that Gift of Life can help find that match. We are NOT taking your bone…
